こんにちは！
今、西から東へ、だんだん桜前線が上昇してきていますね。
気象庁は、桜の開花と満開の予想日程を、毎週(？)発表しています。
わたしは桜が大好きです。
ついに春が来た！と感じられるから。
でもわたしだけじゃなく、ほとんどの日本人は桜が好きだと思うのです。
どうして日本人はそんなに桜が好きなのでしょうか？
それは、桜が華やかに咲いて、でもすぐに散ってしまうのが、人間のはかない人生を象徴しているから、と言われています。
そのたった１週間かそこらの間に、多くの人は「花見」をします。
桜の木の下で、飲んだり食べたりの「花見」をしますが、飲んだり食べたりがメインで、肝心の桜を見ていない「花より団子」の人もいますよね～。（笑）

Why do Japanese like Sakura so much?
Hello, good day.
Now, Sakura (cherry blossoms) is flowering gradually from southwest to northeast in Japan.
JMC (Japan Meteorological Corporation) has been announced the estimated dates when Sakura will start to flower (kaika) and reach full bloom (mankai).
Its report provides timely updates, probably every week.
I love Sakura, it's because I feel as though spring has finally come!
I don't think that is only me, most Japanese like Sakura as well.
So why do Japanese like Sakura so much?
It is said that it is because Sakura symbolizes a kind of ephemeral life of humanity due to the way it blooms gorgeously but only for a short while.
For only a week or so, many people have a "hanami" viewing party.
Hanami usually means an outdoor party under Sakura trees.
Some people enjoy drinking and eating rather than looking at Sakura.
We call those “Hana yori dango” in Japanese.
